Day 01 – Mon, Wed, Fri – KUL – Batu Caves – Kuala Selangor (75 km) [L/D]
Meet at the lobby at 9.00am for a leisure drive Kuala Selangor Nature Park. On-route visit the
famous Batu Caves. A flight of 272 steps leads up to a sacred Hindu Temple. Explore Kota
Melawati and Kuala Selangor Nature Park, if you are lucky, you may spot wild silver-leaf
monkeys. Enjoy a local lunch at a malay village and mingle with the villagers. Be entranced
with a boat ride to see thousands of fireflies put on a dazzling display of lights, with their
synchronous flickering.
Day 02 – Tue, Thu, Sat – Kuala Selangor – Cameron Highlands (199 km) [B]
Enjoy a 3.5 hrs drive to the Cameron Highland. Visit the Lata Iskandar Waterfall and a native
settlement. Explore in your highland tour, the tea plantation, tea factory (factory operations is
closed on Mon & public holidays), the market place, a vegetable farm, a flower garden and
the butterfly farm.
Day 03 – Wed, Fri, Sun –Cameron Highlands – Ipoh (90 km) [B]
Explore Ipoh, with its old world charm and burgeoning hipster cafe. Visit the Perak Tong
Cave, Ipoh Railway Station, St Michael Old Building, Ipoh Royal Club, Ipoh High Court and
shop for some tasty local products.
Day 04 – Thur, Sat, Mon – Ipoh – Kuala Sepetang – Taiping – Bukit Merah (119 km)[B]
At the royal town of Kuala Kangsar view Malaysia’s unique architecture of the exterior of
Ubudiah Mosque, Iskandariah Palace and Kenangan. Visit the fishing village of Kuala
Sepetang and a charcoal kiln in Malaysia’s best-managed mangrove forests. View the first
railway station and enjoy a boat cruise and observe daily activities and life of the coastal
fishing folk. Marvel at the tranquil and lush Taiping Lake.
Day 05 – Fri, Sun, Tues Bukit Merah – Orang Utan Island – Belum Valley (189 km) [B]
Enjoy a 10-minute boat ride across calm waters to the Orang Utan Island, a center dedicated
to the rehabilitation and conservation of Malaysia's orangutans before departing to Belum
Valley.
Day 06 – Sat, Mon, Wed – Belum Valley [B]
Discover Belum Valley, an area bristling with fauna and flora, a rich national heritage. A boat
ride takes you to an aboriginal villages to observe and mingle with the ‘Orang Asli’ people,
which literally mean ‘the original people’. Enjoy a jungle trek and with some luck, find the
‘Rafflesia’ - the world’s largest flower in the wilderness. Relax at a scenic waterfall in the
lush green jungle. Rest of the day is free at leisure.
Day 07 – Sun, Tues, Thur – Belum Valley – Alor Setar (187 km) [B/L]
Enjoy your journey to Alor Star – the capital of Malaysia’s oldest Malay Sultanate. Explore
the bustling Wednesday Market (which interestingly enough, is open daily). Enjoy a
breathtaking view at Alor Star Tower for a panoramic view of vast expanses of paddy fields.
Enjoy your lunch “in the clouds”. View Masjid Zahir from the exterior, one of the grandest
and most beautiful mosques in Malaysia, the Balai Besar or Balai Penghadapan (audience
hall), Balai Nobat, a unique building that houses the sacred instruments of royal orchestra and
the Kedah Royal Museum. Explore the Rice Museum.
Day 08 – Mon, Wed, Fri – Alor Setar – Penang (118 km) [B]
Discover the Culture and Heritage of Georgetown, which has been official declared as a
UNESCO SITE in 2008. Visit Kek Lok Si Temple the most beautiful and largest Buddhist
temple complex in South East Asia. Visit Fort Cornwallis, the landing site of Captain Francis
Light in 1786. Explore the water village of the Clan Jetties at Weld Quay. Discover the “The
Street of Harmony” where churches, Chinese temples, mosques and Hindu temples are built
along the same street in harmonious existence. Visit the intricate Khoo Kong Si clan’s house.
