Day 01 : Arrival in Comodoro Rivadavia & City Tour
Arrive at the local airport, transfer to your lodging, and rest briefly.
Afternoon city tour of Comodoro Rivadavia: visit the Petroleum Museum and ascend Mt. Chenque viewpoint for panoramic views. Continue to Rada Tilly village for Punta del Marques Hill and a sea lion rookery visit. Overnight in Comodoro Rivadavia area.
Day 02 : Comodoro Rivadavia → Río Mayo
After breakfast, visit the Petrified Woods (65 million‐year‐old fossilized trunks), set amidst desert vegetation and prehistoric conifers.
Continue to a ranch specializing in guanaco conservation (camelid species), learning about their breeding and protection.
Later, arrive in Río Mayo for the night. Overnight in Río Mayo area.
Day 03 : Pinturas River Valley (Cueva de las Manos)
Morning drive to Pinturas River Canyon. Moderate‐level trekking to see the Painted Hands Caves—prehistoric rock art depicting hands and guanacos in various colors.
Picnic lunch in the canyon. Return to camp/ranch in the late afternoon. Overnight in the Río Mayo region.
Day 04 : Route 40 → Balmaceda → Puerto Chacabuco
Depart along Route 40 toward Perito Moreno village. Cross the border into Chile at Balmaceda, with a lunch stop in Coyhaique.
Arrive in Puerto Chacabuco; transfer to your lodging in the area. Overnight near Puerto Chacabuco.
Day 05 : Puerto Chacabuco → San Rafael Glacier
Early breakfast, then board a catamaran for a full‐day cruise to the San Rafael Glacier. Sail through fjords and channels to the glacier face (70 m above water).
Zodiac excursions among vibrant icebergs (over 30,000 years old).
Return to Puerto Chacabuco by late afternoon. Overnight near Puerto Chacabuco.
Day 06 : Departure from Balmaceda
After breakfast, transfer to Balmaceda airport for your flight to the next destination.
